Sighs of Summer.001

Rosemary Nissen-Wade (my friend and one of the poets from She Too: Four Voices in Almost Harmony) writes lovely articles at the Poets Untied site. Two of the main articles she writes there are “The Living Dead” and “I Wish I’d Written This.” This week Rosemary’s “I Wish I’d Written This,” features haiga, haiku, and short verse poets that use words as well as images to bring life’s poetic moments alive.

My “Sighs of Summer” was fortunate enough sit side by side with other great poems and images.

String Me Along.001

“String Me Along” was inspired by the Summerfest 2015 Gala performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto, No. 5 in D major, BWV 1050. Thank you to the performers of this and all of the pieces performed that night. It was a breath taking event!

Sighs of Summer

Sighs of Summer

The cello sounds of moonlight bleeding
across a pond. Sing me your baritone melody
as violin dragonflies ripple shadows larger than life.
Call me out of loneliness sweet viola
your voice drawn against my heart.
With the piano, a sigh carries the release.
