Hello everyone;
I did say "haphazardly" participating in the April PAD Challenge. This is why day one is being posted after day two.
Day 1 prompt of "write an optimistic poem"
Not Dead Yet, Me
Is it really such a tragedy
that my sentences are raggedy
words tread together by similarity?
The conversation is still defiantly
expressions of me.
Is it really such a travesty
that I wander aimlessly?
When I can travel through time so easily
…our life history
…a life lived outrageously.
Is it really such a disparity
that I have forgotten the melody
of your name? Still there’s some clarity….
I know the feelings of family
and passions intensity.
Is it really such an indignity
that something once familiar is now a novelty.
Or that simple tasks escape me.
I still dance to life’s jamboree
and sing majestically.
Is it really such a finality
even as I become more absentee?
There is plenty of life in my legacy.
Don’t bother writing my eulogy,
when there’s still time to create a memory.

Seductress
In lines and curves
in light and shadows
in brilliant and muted colors,
you entice the spirit to explore
what lies beneath your surface.
My eager soul drinks in your glory.
As if it pours from the Holy Grail
and tastes of Buddha tears,
sweet as honey nursed from the sun
and salty, churned the ocean’s floor.
In your beauty you are both seen
and felt. You seduce, blind to your grace.
Your admirers loll unfurled on your altar
with love’s confession on their tongue.
To celebrate the first #OLN at the dVerse Pub of 2014.
I looked for another poem from you at Open Link 1/14, but didn’t find one.
Ah, yes, each time when I try to find you from my own blog I go through various links. Is there any way you could set it so that one is taken to the correct blog without going through the profile and then an incorrect blog which directs the reader to the correct blog? One must be persistent…but it would make more sense to make it simpler for the reader, I think.
Mary I did post 1-14. I know it is hard to respond through your blog because I don’t have any of the other accounts. It is too bad you blog does not let one use their name and url. There is always Mr. Linky.
Thanks for checking for me though.
beautiful and intriguing all at once… really great imagery!
A seductress like that.. sounds like someone to crave for.. I can see her before my eyes.
beautiful write! especially loved,
“My eager soul drinks in your glory.
As if it pours from the Holy Grail”
I like the idea of inviting to discover “what lies beneath your surface”. Isn’t it what we all hope for?
seen and felt… i like when i can feel someone… charisma is so much more than looks…it’s how present someone is i think…and a bit of magic..
This is a beautiful piece of poetry… I’m seduced by every line!

She sounds so enticing!
Oh she is. She is love, she is life, she is art, she is poetry, she is anything that we allow to seduce our hearts.
