Hello everyone;
I did say "haphazardly" participating in the April PAD Challenge. This is why day one is being posted after day two.
Day 1 prompt of "write an optimistic poem"
Not Dead Yet, Me
Is it really such a tragedy
that my sentences are raggedy
words tread together by similarity?
The conversation is still defiantly
expressions of me.
Is it really such a travesty
that I wander aimlessly?
When I can travel through time so easily
…our life history
…a life lived outrageously.
Is it really such a disparity
that I have forgotten the melody
of your name? Still there’s some clarity….
I know the feelings of family
and passions intensity.
Is it really such an indignity
that something once familiar is now a novelty.
Or that simple tasks escape me.
I still dance to life’s jamboree
and sing majestically.
Is it really such a finality
even as I become more absentee?
There is plenty of life in my legacy.
Don’t bother writing my eulogy,
when there’s still time to create a memory.

Change In the Wind
You will go wherever
the wind blows.
Wings stretch slightly bowed
pivoting North then East in limbo.
Some new view
seen in a new hue.
Without leaving the joint
you’re always on the turning point.
Spending St.Patty’s spinning out poetry about the wind at dVerse Pub for #Poetics. Grace is pulling pints and bloggers single-handedly.
Nice. I like the poem and the different layers of understanding one can apply to it.
Thank you Myrna!
always on the turning point and new views every few seconds… maybe not so bad at all… some nice symbolism in this as well
Thank you Claudia I appreciate your feedback!
I think turning with the wind is something that is needed.. To be fickle or to listen and adopting is connected in some ways. Some good thoughts here.
Cheers Bjorn I agree! 🙂
How delightful!
Thank you Madeleine 🙂
Weather vane, or fickle person. ..this works well for either. ..our both. smiles
Thanks Bryan!
And ‘the turning point’ varies, the view changes….but still life is good.
Life is phenomenal as long as we remember to bend in the wind and strengthen our spines. Cheers Mary. 🙂
My, how nice it would be sometimes to go with the wind, to see different things from different angles. And the rhythm of this is wonderful.
Thank you! I love writing poems about changing perception. 🙂
For folks, it is not positive if it is said of you; they are so wishy-washy–just go whichever way the wind blows; but sailors & some souls can tack against the wind, & accomplish profound things; I guess kites & planes lift higher when flown against the wind.
Too True Glenn but some don’t know any better or just have a traveling soul. 🙂
there are times when you gotta go against the wind, and when you gotta go with the flow… much easier for the guy in the pic to know, tho; he just turns wherever the wind blows.. haha
Hey you are so right Anthony! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Very cool description of the weather vane, and a nice picture, too. I was confused, though, that when I hover over the picture with my mouse an arrow appears. Am I supposed to be able to change the direction of the picture? That would be cool if I could. Peace, Linda
I am glad you liked Linda. Sadly no the arrows do not change the direction but the picture will get larger if you click on it. Cheers!
Well that is quite a view, I say ~ It would be nice to fly away at some days ~ Love the cadence Delaina ~
Thank you Grace. Thank you for tending the bar and choosing Kathleen as guest hostess!
What a cool weather vane! And such a wonderful description – seeing the new view and hue. Thanks for sharing this with us tonight – K
Thanks for the fantastic prompt! There are so many directions poems can go. Cheers!
I guess in one sense turning with the wind is not bad if you can use it to your advantage…and being willing to pivot to see a new view…is probably more than most are capable of…ha
So true Brian. 🙂
